A Newari craftsman squats at a traditional wooden low wheel as he is shaping clay to make a vase in an alley next to Bhaktapur's Potter's Square. The black clay used by craftsmen in Bhaktapur is called Dyo Cha, meaning "clay of God", and is renown for it's softness and malleability.
