A Buddhist monk wearing maroon robe and carrying his alms bowl walks through the morning market in the town of Mae Salong in Chiang Rai Province in Northern Thailand. The area is known for its tea and coffee plantations which replaced the opium trade of the Golden Triangle - a term referring to the border area between Thailand, Laos and Myanmar.
