London, UK. 1st November 2016. The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) held demonstration outside Parliament to oppose Southern Rail plans for the driver-only-operation trains and support Southern Rail conductors in their dispute over changes to the role of train guards. The representatives of unions together with organisations of pensioners and disabled argued that abolition of train conductors will have a negative impact on passenger safety. PICTURED: Sean Hoyle (L), the RMT's president shakes hands with one of the protesters at the demonstration, while Steve Hedley - Senior Assistant General Secretary (C) and Mick Cash - General Secretary (R) look on.
